2. The Journey
🐊 Stop 1: The Crocodile Sanctuary (Panama Tank)
Our safari begins at the serene Panama Tank. Here, you can witness crocodiles in their natural habitat and observe a variety of rare aquatic birds. It’s a photographer’s paradise for capturing the raw beauty of local wetlands.
🛕 Stop 2: Spiritual Peace (Kudumbigala Monastery)
Venture deep into the jungle to the historic Kudumbigala Buddhist Monastery. We will guide you to the hilltop Stupa, where you can soak in breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding canopy. It is a place of profound silence and spiritual tranquility.
🕉️ Stop 3: Ancient Traditions (Okanda Hindu Temple)
We travel through forest trails to the famous Okanda Murugan Temple. The journey itself is a highlight; along the lakeside, we frequently spot elephants, foxes, wild boars, water buffaloes, and spotted deer in their natural environment.
🦁 Stop 4: Kumana Gateway & Museum
Visit the museum located at the entrance of the Kumana National Park. Before heading back, we’ll take a moment near the local watering holes to watch wildlife gather for a drink as the sun sets, then begin our return journey to your hotel.
